Membership Categories for 2011 / 2012

Full Member

Available to licensed contractors whose principle business is electrical or communications contracting. Fees are based on the number of employees, and include the proprietor, electrical and/or communications employees, apprentices, subcontractors, casuals and administration staff. Full members have voting rights.

Affiliate Member

Available to businesses and industry organisations affiliated with the electrotechnology industry, whose principle business is not electrical or communications contracting, but whose business function requires the employment of electrical / communications skilled persons to perform electrical / communications work. This includes, but is not limited to, companies, businesses and electrical / communications divisions of other enterprises; eg hospitals, hotels, retail outlets, group training organisations, etc.

This includes manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, utilities, registered training organisations, etc.\

Please note the following points which explain how our membership structure works:

The annual subscription is based on the number of persons, including partners and working Directors, engaged in or in connection with the electrical contracting industry. It is important for the purpose of our membership register that the number of employees in respect of whom subscriptions are payable is accurately stated to ensure we can provide the correct advice and assistance (especially important with industrial relations matters).
Membership applications are to be accompanied by payment of the application fee and full payment for 1 years subscription.
Membership subscriptions are for the financial year July to June. Applications approved during the financial year will receive a rebate calculated on a monthly basis on the following year’s subscription fee.
All applications must be endorsed at a NECA SA Committee meeting, following receipt of the application form.
