As reported in several earlier editions of the necanews the Australian government introduced a new national licensing system for the use of ozone depleting and synthetic greenhouse gases refrigerants effective from the 1st of July 2005.

The new regulations that apply a single set of licensing requirements across Australia affect any person who buys, sells, stores or handles ozone depleting or synthetic greenhouse gas refrigerant, including those in the maritime sector.
