In the bonded condition asbestos cement products do not represent a health hazard. A hazard can exist when the product is handled in such a way as to remove the cement bond thus releasing asbestos fibres that may be of a respirable size. The use of high speed drills, saws and grinding will cause a release of asbestos fibres from the bonded material.
