No Real Surprises There!

In the last NECA newsletter (Nov / Dec edition) I advised that the reforms to the Work Health and Safety legislation were scheduled to be enacted on the 1st January 2012 and pointed out that there would have to be considerable work done if this schedule was to be met.

Collaboration of a few Independents and the SA Opposition meant that on the 29th of November, 2011, the Legislative Council voted to delay debate on the Bill until the next sitting of state parliament in February 2012.

This means that the proposed WHS legislation will not commence in SA on the 1st of January 2012.
