Waiver of employer excess
How to avoid those first two weeks of Income Maintenance
Despite paying your WorkCover premiums you are probably aware that as the employer, you are still responsible for paying the first two weeks of income maintenance when one of your employees is injured severely enough to require time off work. It’s a bit like paying an excess on an insurance claim. In this case you are then paying your injured employee’s wages and whoever you have to hire to replace them. There is however a way to soften the blow so that you can avoid paying these first two weeks of income maintenance, which could add up to few thousand dollars that you can avoid very simply.
